Vampire, Northern Tundra

MAX ALL THE CP! So far I'm the only one to do the +/- glyphs combo. This map didn't have the best boss in the world for a Vampire or for Orb of Zot (I zotted the zombie form), but it was ok overall. Druids are safe cows, but they die rapidly. I leveled up off of snakes for the most part. I probably should've saved BURNDAYRAZ, but I was going CP crazy and wanted to keep HALPMEH. Last boss took some potions. Could've been better I guess.

I really don't want to see more vampires anytime soon... :-P

Took me much longer than I'd like to have found the sacrificial goat, and the Platemail next to it. It was a real struggle before then, but once you've got those valuable shades running around you're home free.

This isn't a great map for a vampire so I used the Orb of Zot immediately and spammed fireballs to wear monster health down and get higher level kills. I finished parched and still had blood pools and the full heal from the subdungeon left.

Arrgh! It occurred to me just after I hit the score screen that I could have easily taken most piety by prepping Conjunction for extra sparkles. Oh well, least I didn't botch this like the last Vampire run (although Creeplight Ruins is no Cursed Oasis)

Well, did better than expected. Got Anoobis down to his final Wraith form but had nothing left at that point to finish him with.
Somebody mentioned using the goat to get Shades as an advantage. What does that provide? Maybe I can use it next time.
On the plus side...finally unlocked Halls of Steel and beat it. Funny story...I went in purist, figuring I would die and I just wanted to scout it for the first time...and I won. Go figure.

I probably should have included a disclaimer that it's better to ignore anything I say about how to play Vampire.

About druid vs shade... Druids level down and then turn into zombies. It's lose-lose. The only nice point is that the Druid itself is easy, but it's not easy bonus XP by any stretch.

I forget how shades work. Blink and Lifesteal I think? Anyway, they're not zombies, and that's at least half of what you need to know.
