Very fast loss today. Stupid to go with MA as a god. Burn city.

Just got hemmed in, god blasted, frustrated and said screw it. Maybe after I unlock Rat Monarch I'll have a better clue.

Took it real slow, managed to beat it. Was a little scary at the start when I had to pop a health potion to progress (was boxed in by monsters, no more tiles to explore, needed more health for 1 more hit to kill a monster to open the way).

Blood altar sub was crucial. Already expended all available tiles and needed the blood pools to continue before starting on the bosses (didn't pick up Endiswall until then so I was actually able to break walls and access more tiles subsequently).

I probably stayed with Mystera the longest (unless somebody mono-ed her). Took 2 shots of Magic, Flames and Mystic Balance. Had to use Consensus from PactMaker to convert to Taurog. Shop-purchases wise, I might have also taken a different route from what most people would do - I bought the Gloves of Midas early (as soon as I found it) and also bought the Dragon Soul (even though it was expensive, I anticipated having to use magic a lot and having it would help tons).

Also made use of Alchemist Pact while fighting the bosses, allowing me to get more XP. Made some "mistakes" (un-optimized play) such as not buying and using the blue bead when killing off popcorn and also getting Taurog's armour but left it on the ground, only picking it up after finishing off the Berserker boss.

In the end, I managed to buy from all shops except the Fine Sword and mopped up until there were 3 enemies remaining (L7, L8, L9 if I remember correctly or roughly around these levels).

Elf Rogue, Creeplight Ruins

Good race for the boss. Good class for the item preps. Good gods for the class.

Easy leveling, and a nice Earthmother piety spike to get over the non-zombie boss forms.

Any Namtar's Rogue is going to be good. But do be careful tracking your charges and DPs...

Some days you play well and lose. Other days you play poorly and win. This was the latter case.

I made some real braindead clicks. Started worshipping MA, got some mana and then switched to Binlor planning to get more knockback then switch to EM. However, for some reason I clicked on the Endiswal glyph instead, even though I already had one!

Never did manage to get to EM but somehow managed to finish the boss by level 8 without feeling much pressure. The 19 mana definitely helped but Namtar's ward was the real difference. Being able to take a hit from the various boss forms and fireball them continuously allowed even my foolish play to work.
