I know ~'(^ + ^)'~ is working on Daemonic Library, and Vicious Steel may appeal to more players as a more straightforward (though still quite hard) map, and well we all know VGT is not necessarily even possible; so I decided to load up my old Kingdom where Naga City is unlocked, and see if I can do that. Naga City is quite fun in this challenge, because Purist makes the topside quite difficult (no altar... no shop preps...

I had three classes in mind (Wizard / Tinker / Crusader), though went with Wizard mostly because that kingdom's Veto slots are aligned for a castery quest item pool, and I would've had to re-locker them for the other classes' hybrid/melee approach.
Took a couple of tries, and yes I know I broke my own rule and used something I already used before (*bad* Tinker!

Now, I'm normally leaning towards Gnomes on Naga City. However, going in Purist, I could not rely on any of the juicy options like Quest Items prep, Whupaz/Schadenfreude, extra mana boosters, etc. Plus, given how there's no altar topside, you'll only start worshiping Mystera after you descend and pay 20 gold (normally, that's after the first bosskill). A Gnome Sorcerer with full preps would have an 50%+ winrate on VT Naga City, but that requires hitting the sweet spots (big mana pool, plus enough refills); Wizard can bring down the glyphs that can be used for Mystera's Refreshment, but a Gnome would depend heavily on shop luck topside (whereas an Elf can just pull a sizable manapool from basically thin air).
I took what I found and abused it (Martyr Wraps + PISORF, mostly), and I still had to improvise towards the end to get the additional 80 or so Mana I was missing to finish the last bosses and defeat Kinisssch. Needless to say how much easier the whole run would've been had I found Metal Spider Temple, or chance upon a Crystal Ball, Dragon Soul, or perhaps just a simple Keg of Mana topside. That said, when I saw Mage Plate, I knew I had something, and I rolled with it.
