To be honest, I'm not a fan of the actual EB. But that's because the EB Curious is so amazing that I've been completely spoiled by it.

EB finished. Yeah, pretty simple after Fee Fi Fo Fum. Dwarf Rogue of JJ. Double shots of both boosts, Chaos Avatar, and Last Chance. Sheesh, a LOT of piety here. Surprisingly not as much Frostbite as I thought. Final fight features it, but the stat losses are just as big a part of that fight too. Rogue loses more Damage % then other classes here it seems, so blech! Still won, second try. Also, great atmosphere with that dungeon. Felt like a mythical hero accomplishing some legendary feat for slaying the boss there and ending the endless blizzard.

The game ain't telling me of any reward for beating Gilded Goat, so I think I'll detour to finishing off the North (Errand Boy, Flooded Foundry), then dork around with Curious dungeons. (Also, I hate Fighter Gold). Will probably take the Crusader for a spin throughout the East. I remember arguing with General Milky about the merits of Frostbite immunity. Want to play around on those levels some more to evaluate my judgment some more. Course, I also still need to play Namtar's Lair and VGT on vanilla again. I...only finished Namtar's Lair once to get the Wand, then haven't touched it since because it was so hard back then. > _ >

The EB boss damage penalty sets your bonus damage to 0 - it's not a flat penalty. So Humans are disadvantaged here, and so are Rogues.

Gilded Goat does have a reward, but it's strange, unusual, and just for funsies. The real reason to do Gilded Goat is just for the challenge of it, and some story bits that seem to be hinting at where everything's eventually going with the "plot."

When I read the post yesterday, it had an extra paragraph she edited out. Yeah, that's the new item riggfed kingdom, she did it in 3 tries and the first "real" run that got all the items won easily and effortlessly.

...Besides that, you can tell it's the new kingdom because Scrooge badge isn't unlocked in this one.

Good spotting! The other tell is that Curious is labeled "New!", when I'd earned it before on my proper kingdom with Troll cheese.

Maybe "effortlessly" is a strong word... but I won with resources to spare despite significant misplays, mediocre RNG (other than giving me my three items), and a bizarre conversion chain where I left Dracul and then converted back to him again later. And that was on the first run that got off the ground at all in the new kingdom.

I tried another run this morning going Wizard instead of Sorcerer and it was actually way harder! Between losing Mana Shield and Flames (since without the need for Mystic Balance it seems best to just skip Mystera and start with Jehora Jeheyu) you're effectively at -2 damage per fireball per level compared to Sorcerer, and it feels much worse than I'd anticipated. Even with the item combo I ran out of mana and darkness at tower floor 8.

Here's the video!

Nice work! As far as the video description goes, though, I think you might be a little off. Two other classes have been known to beat curious VGT, and that's Vampire and Heretic. Neither class needs infinites or cheese; vampire just needs luck on bloodcows/floor order, and Heretic obviously naturally shines in an environment with every altar and therefore every boon in easy reach. I also got to the Avatar once on a Paladin of Dracul run before vampire came up as the way to go.

There WAS a bug with the membership badge that made Vampire brainlessly easy to win with but it wasn't necessary, and the nerf to make Golem Arbiters bloodless also hurt the Vampire run, but it shouldn't be impossible by any means with straight forward vampire strats.

Yes, I agree that both Paladin and Vampire should probably be doable. The problem is that as melee builds, they are far less consistent because they depend on you finding the cursed and frozen enemies early on.
