Gorgons!

Currently, thanks to cans of whupaz, this class can easily beat most most dungeons. The problem is not with the class, but with the fact that you can lower them to 65% and then use death gaze. I think they need to inforce some sort of death gaze cap, or somehow stop them from doing this. You could make it that they can't drink potions due to an unstable bloodstream. Or something else. Gorgons are probably the most imbalanced class so far. Any suggestions on how to tone them down?

Eh, considering you have to beat Naga City THRICE to get her...

Well, I don't have any comments right now. Mostly because I haven't accomplished the above yet.

Well, you can get 5% death gaze for 100 conversion points. With a sensation stone, you can reach 65% death gaze. If you have 1 death protection, you can use a can of whupaz to bring them to 65% and immediately turn them to stone.

I don't think it's even working right now. With 75% death gaze I couldn't kill Blahblah even though he was at just under 65% HP. I even gave myself first strike just to be on the safe side. Unless I'm missing something, death gaze is not fully functional.

Even if it did work, though, I'm not sure that there's a whole lot to be fixed. Outside of this strategy, Gorgons seem pretty weak to me so far, and I would be hesitant to call for a nerf quite so soon. Yeah, a Gorgon could death gaze most bosses at level 1, but that's not going to be of much help against the Avatar, Matron, Namtar, Naga City, etc. where you have multiple bosses or multiple forms to deal with. (And while 65% + death gaze would certainly be helpful, keep in mind that to get there you have to convert nearly everything that isn't nailed down, and/or scum for Pactmaker/JJ. After one Whupaz you won't have many resources left to get the other bosses' HP down.) You could probably death gaze Horatio with a Gorgon, but a Gorgon is (from my limited testing so far) probably too weak to actually make it that far in the Tower. And there are other low-level boss kill strategies, meaning Gorgons aren't all that unique in this regard: Rogues and Warlords can jack their base damage up to ridiculous levels using Orc conversion and Strength Potions (Berserkers and Crusaders can do even better, provided they get death protection or first strike); Wizards can do insane amounts of damage with PISORF for minimal MP cost (and Transmuters can do so with a net MP gain!).

Death Gaze doesn't work for me either.

I like how the Gorgon's description is... "Gorgon!"

I got a feeling the devs didn't expect anyone to actually unlock Gorgon now considering the difficulty level of Naga City. We're just overly dedicated.

Well, a good portion of people who have Gorgon got it with broken classes/items/gods long before they all got nerfed to where they are today. Now it's mostly scumming/luck to beat naga city, even if you play with the right setup/preps/classes/races.

Not entirely true; more powerful shops have been introduced since then, and the new Jehora Jeheyu is great for CYDSTEPP'ers. I'd say warlords (and CYDSTEPP'ers in general) have an easier time with Naga City now than they did in previous versions. Thief has gained about as much from kegs of health/mana as he's lost from the Dragon Shield nerf.

Yeah, there's something wrong with the gorgons. I don't think the devs did expect us to unlock it. It is also much weaker than it used to be. They lost +2 mana from kills, and they lost 25% physical resistance. They should be 25% resist both poisonous, +1 mana from kills, 10% death gaze, and death gaze immunity. Also, something is up with death gaze...

Half Dragons aren't exactly the same either, for example they can actually use Fireballs (it was dumb that they can't in Alpha really)

Anyway, I think they're trying to make Monster Races follow the "3 abilities only" thing that all other classes do. And yes, Death Gaze doesn't work right now so Gorgons are sort of like a mix between a weak Monk and Assassin right now.

Since they have less abilities than Alpha, I actually don't know if Gorgon is overpowered even with Whupazz.
