Dwarf idea (unless someone figures out a broken DR strategy in that case I will put my foot in my mouth again)

Gains "reverse stacking" resistances per conversion

E.g First conversion +10%, 2nd conversion +9%, 3rd conversion +8% etc minimum 1% (maybe 2%)

I'm not particularly good at mathematics though but it seems like this would be good on e.g Paladin Priests

Okay, I just gave the new fighter a solid go, in my preferred testing ground of Doubledoom (tougher monsters, but no specific bias to the dungeon style, often have to adapt to the bosses as I find them).

While the fighter hardly feels like a power class, and killing things above your level is a pain, it forced me to make good use of the shops and altars available. Fighter really had a distinct feel, though, he levels like a champ, and any popcorn you manage to save can very easily be converted into midfight level ups.

If he's supposed to be a generalist that uses the resources on the map to squeeze out an edge, he fulfills that role. I find myself really focussing on basic principles of good play while using him, but he wasn't just a blank class.

That said, he's still not a strong class. I feel he's a weaker generalist than the thief, but I was struck by how much xp was left in the dungeon even after hitting level 10, despite not many big level gap kills.

Yeah, the fighter 10% reduce of leveling feels great when you play him.

An earth mother halfling priest? I think a JJ boost health for +75 hp would do better...

Scum for Binlor for tons of starting piety and a free glyph, plus the ability to strip his phys resistance for a mere 100 piety.

Does Namtar's Ward recharge from post-level 10 refreshes? That might just make it the way to go, although still somewhat limited in usefulness beyond Rogues, Warlords, and Berserkers.

The old version was great for Taurog Berserkers...

I got a SWEET new strategy. I take an Orc Rogue, and Avatar Symbol Prep.

1) Find Binlor and reduce everyones resist to 0 and gain 50-100 more piety to convert. You don't need this, and if he's not there skip to step 2.
2) Worship/Convert into JJ. From their, use boost health three times for 75 extra hp.
3) Dominate.

And if you're lucky enough to get 100 more piety you can also use Chaos Avatar to weaken resists.

Avatar goes down on my first try, and Namtar as soon as I pulled the collar to make it to 100 piety.

I remember reading that cornerstone glyphs aren't a good thing. Well, the new BURNDAYRAZ is pretty much that.

Taking down the 50 death protections as an elf wizard of Mystera (crystall ball prep) didn't required a single potion, just a level 1 monster to hit between every fireball and one mid fight leveling (and a 0 mana LEMMISI for comfort :)).

Namtar is also really easy. His third form is the most mana consumming because you have to WEYTWUT before every BURNDAYRAZ to prevent his counter, but his health pool already took a serious hit and he doesn't last long.

It's also really easy to take on +4/+5 gorgon/wraith with burning stacks. It's a bit like having an integrated APHEELSIK, and the ressources used in the process are put to good use with a fast Mystera piety farm.

NB: When I switch from Mystera to JJ, it seems the Refreshment boon doesn't work anymore. Is it a bug ?

About the Dwarf, I like TigerKnee's suggestion, it's a more linear mitigation. It also prevent some form of abuse.

Another way could be to have both, like 1 DR and 4 RES. That would balance the dwarf against both heavy hitters and tanks.

Also, I think the flat reduction should apply AFTER the percentage reduction, like corrosion does.
