The goblin is a race in Desktop Dungeons, unlocked after finding it in a sub dungeon and giving it 20 gold. You must survive the dungeon after finding it. Back in the kingdom, you must pay more gold to upgrade their building and be able to use them.
The goblin gets +5 experience points for every 85 conversion points.
Strategy
The goblin takes advantage of classes that gain level-dependent bonuses (e.g.: monk and assassin).
Monk: When using a monk, the player will take advantage of the monk's high regeneration. The player should try to reach level 10 by worshiping a god that has an experience-giving boon, such as Jehora Jeheyu or Dracul. Avoid worshiping Tikki Tooki, unless there are many low-level monsters in the map.
Another good choice for a god is Taurog, but be careful: if you worship him, it will be difficult to convert to another god, because he will reduce your mana and fill up your inventory slots.
Before starting the boss battle(s), make sure you are about to level up. Then, use all your HP and MP and convert a glyph. You will gain a level, recovering your HP and MP. Start fighting the boss again, but this time, whenever you run out of HP, explore some tiles to regenerate health. This works best when you have a high level.
Assassin: The assassin takes advantage of the goblin's high level combined with the SWIFT HAND skill, wich allows you to instantly kill monsters of a lower level than you. Start by worshiping Tikki Tooki at level 2 and getting lots of piety. Get his "Tikki's Edge" boon. If you want, continue worshiping him and get dodge, poison or another level of Tikki's Edge. If you don't, convert to Jehora Jeheyu or Dracul (unless your current map has lots of undead) and get an experience-giving boon.
Once you reach a high level, start fighting the boss and convert glyphs when you have low health and mana. When you level-up again, start casting poison on the boss and exploring more tiles, until you run out of tiles.
