EE:Losing Paradise
This feature is part of the Extreme Edition fan-made expansion. |
Losing Paradise is the Heretic bronze challenge. In this challenge, you are a worshipper of
Dracul tasked with obtaining an artifact.
Preparations
There are no preparations allowed on this challenge.
Resources Available
This dungeon has the standard assortment of resources, but only one altar which is dedicated to Dracul.
Special Rules
You begin worshipping Dracul and have none of your class traits. You'll have to take out the level 10 Possessed Goat to retrieve an artifact for Dracul. Once you retrieve the artifact, you will need to feed it piety by angering Dracul - the Artifact provides you with BLASPHEMOUS, so you will get some CP out of this. Once you feed it 25 piety, you will regain your ability to gain stats from indulgences. Additionally, the path to the Glowing Scriptures in the center opens up. Once you have lost 50 piety, you regain your ability to desecrate your god on level up. Then, you must level up to desecrate Dracul, angering Osiros so you can fight him.
Monsters
Zombie,
Animated Armour,
Shade, and
Possessed Goat are guaranteed to appear, along with two
Random common monsters.
Monster difficulty is 80%.
Boss
Osiros: Warlock icon, 60 attack, 254 health,
Revives into:
Osiros (2):
Warlock icon, 120 attack, 127 health.
Strategy
This is a bit of a strange challenge. The dungeon itself is quite easy, with weak monsters and a pushover of a boss. The hard part is obtaining and satisfying the artifact.
Orc can help with this challenge - the extra damage makes levelling up to take on the level 10 goat easier. Alternatively,
Goblin works well for similar reasons. Your goal should be to level up solely off of the non-Undead enemies, if possible. As soon as you can, kill the level 10
Possessed Goat. You probably should not take any boons from
Dracul, because you will need the piety later - if you are going to take anything, make it
Blood Hunger, because
Life steal is pretty helpful and will partially recoup the piety cost.
After that, you can start killing Undead monsters to store piety in the artifact. Prioritize the low level ones, since you will need to level up again later. You will need to actually have the piety to store it - you can take
Blood Curse for 20, and you should have some saved up. Once you get to 25, you can destroy the scriptures for 30 more piety and some improved stats. Then, keep losing piety till you get to 50. Now you will need to level up one more time -
Goblin can help with this, otherwise make sure you have enough monsters left to level up.
After that, you just need to take out Osiros. He has pretty weak stats and shouldn't be much of a problem by this point. After that, you can destroy the artifact and leave with your newfound powers.
