Soul suckers are powerful magic monsters found mostly in the Extreme East. Their combination of moderately high damage, 
Essence Drain, and 
Retaliate: Fireball can make them difficult to fight without taking lots of damage. Because of their fairly low health, if you can slow them they are vulnerable to fireballs, and 
PISORF works quite well against them.
