edit: Ok found it again. @Darvin: That strategy doesn't work, in the mana burn phase every time you explore a new square you get mana burned again >.>

I touched the altar, said yes to some text and it gave me a potion which restores 10 health and 0 mana. I drank the potion and it cured my poison and mana burn but it didn't lift my weakining (5) and corrosion(8!). Doesn't really seem worth it, probably the best thing to do is beeline to the altar to get a mana burn/poison cure potion unless you have JJ to cure you.

It appears that the limit is 75 tiles before you die. Definitely enough to loot one entire side of the complex, possibly without ENDISWAL at all.

I noticed that after I touched the altar exploring didn't cause weakening or corrosion anymore. Maybe that was just my luck or maybe you can go for the altar and a single item without dying to get out without any permanent debuffs.

I couldn't find the "Mothers for Happier Dungeoneers" subdungeon, anyone know which levels it spawns on? I also found a subdungeon which just had some gold and a sign explaining what "popcorn" is. Is that one worth mentioning?

@Darvin: Figured out what the altar in that new subdungeon does too. When you worship at it you get poisoned, mana burned, corroded for 1 and weakened for 1. It reduces your health to 1 and mana to 0 and gives you a potion which restores as much health and mana as it stole. So if you are at, say level 10 and worship at the altar that potion is going to be amazing, basically a complete full restore. You can get to the altar and out without taking any additional weaking or corrosion too.

Mothers for Happier Dungeoneers is just one of the generic signs that can be found in a potion subdungeon.

Hmm. In all my subdungeon crawling I didn't find the subdungeon I normally associate with mothers, that is, I didn't find a subdungeon with some gold, a potion and a sign.

I neeeeverrrr get basic subdungeons anymore. To the extent that I rarely check them until I'm really against the rails and need some dark tiles.
