I don't think the game is going to be exceptionally stable when there's already sprite loading problems (as shown by the lack of an inventory), that crash is definitely a faux running-out-of-memory error (which is wonderfully laughable, because it then has enough memory to load the crash panel sprite background).
Apparently when compiled in Unity 4, these errors simply don't exist. Meaning they seem to have been introduced in the webplayer recently.
