Good run, Avatar. Certainly an awesome speedrun. That's worth 13 points, putting you in 2nd place.
Maybe it could do with a couple of tweaks, like making the challenge criteria more specific or exotic -- taking advantage of the fact that this is a "metagame" and doesn't necessarily have to conform to the achievement metrics that DD itself lays out for you.
Oh, absolutely. We were talking about round 2 having a predetermined class. Different scoring criteria are totally in the cards as well.
Give this a go again with some more advanced warning, I have my doubts about enough people looking in to see this particular thread right away
For sure; I wanted to get a trial run out before the next update. We'll probably get Dungeon of the Day 2 running after today's update.
It's also Cursed Oasis, perhaps my least favorite level. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I'd have rather done Naga City.
I was actually afraid it would fall on Slime Pit or Ick Swamp. I find those dungeons even nastier than the Oasis. That said, Oasis strongly favors the Assassin and I probably favor the Assassin more than any player here, so that's probably a bias on my part.
Suggestion for round 2:
1) Roll a 20-sided die to generate a random class
Fighter (1), Thief (2), Priest (3), Wizard (4), Berserker (5), Rogue (6), Monk (7), Sorcerer (8), Warlord (9), Assassin (10), Paladin (11), Bloodmage (12), Tinker (13), Crusader (14), Transmuter (15), (16-20: reroll)
(Monster classes intentionally not listed above; let's keep this accessible to newer players who might not have them unlocked)
2) Roll a 12-sided die to generate a random dungeon
Rock Garden (1), Creeplight Ruins (2), Hexx Ruins (3), Havensdale Bridge (4), Grimm's Grotto (5), Berserker Camp (6), Slime Pit (7), Magma Mines (8), Shifting Passages (9), Hard Halls of Steel (10), Ick Swamp (11), or Labyrinth (12)
(same array as for round 1, with Cursed Oasis taken out of rotation and replaced with Grimm's Grotto)
3) A forum member
other than me will declare a starting time and perform the necessary dice rolls to reveal the challenge at that time. The contest will run for 5 days.
I like Nandrew's suggestion for alternate scoring rather than doing it based on medals or different kinds of rules/restrictions, but I'm not sure what the best choices would be in that regard. Anyone have specific suggestions?
