I couldn't figure out how to pick up the chicken... I must be bad at this.
Y'know, it's easy to cry "rip-off" when you see something like this, but unless its being done in a malicious way I don't think it's worth getting upset over. Honestly it can only increase awareness of Desktop Dungeons in the long run, and that's a good thing.
...and no, I'm not sure how one would maliciously design a game.
Well, if there's designing going on, then it's probably not cloning a specific game
Generally clones just straight-up copy as much as possible from an existing game and try to release in a market where the original game is either unavailable or unknown. And yeah, I think that would qualify as maliciousness.
I think that having an idea on how to solve a specific issue differently or how to approach a design area in a different way is totally worth remixing a game over. Heck, that's how so many games get built - people are like "Man, why did the designers do X when they should have done Y, I will do better!" and then either something new happens, or you understand why that other decision was made for reals.
Also hey, your Depot Dungeons game definitely sounds interesting. What the hell is Megazeux?
