Rat challenge: Oh boy, what a chain of mistakes my run was. I forgot to chose preparations, I converted HALPMEH way too early (was struggling for health for most of the run), I switched from Binlor→Mystera at level 4 or so (wanted to go for 15 mana and Mystic Balance and BURNDAYRAZ which was a really bad plan because of PISORF costs and magical enemies and access to stoneskin), I didn’t push enough monsters into each other with PISORF, and, at level 7, I misclicked on the close button of the system’s window decorations and shut down the game. (For my system, the buttons are in the top left corner, very close to the game map.) Well, the run was lost anyway (out of blackspace, mostly out of resources, only Evolvia down to ~50 % health), but I would have liked to take a screenshot of this mess.

Sandman, I can handle at least one of these questions. The ARMOR.EXE thing is a 20% physical resitance buff you get if you give away your ENDISWAL glyph to the WIZARD.EXE subdungeon. This subdungeon consists of a friendly golem who talks in robot/computer speak and offers benefits for glyphs:

A Monk starts with 50% phyical resistance, and has a maximum allowed of 75% (usually the max is lower than that). ARMOR.EXE gets you to 70%. In the Rock Garden level, this means you can easily deal with golems who spawn at your level every time you level up.

"Meaty" has to refer to Super Meat Man. He does low damage, and with 75% resistance and a Venom Dagger, it's probably not that hard to deal damage and regenerate faster than he does, so that his health actually drops on the whole as you fight/explore. If you look at the new player section of the wiki, this is explained as "regen fighting".

Starting at level 4 is a little extreme, but apparently it can be done. "Finish at 5" just means that they probably started the fight near level 5, put a lot of health and mana into fighting Meaty, and then leveled up off of a weaker enemy for the level-up health/mana refill. This is something that is hugely useful if you want to do well on Hard or Vicious dungeons. It's useful in many situations, but most notably against the end boss, in which case you almost always want to set up a "ding" (named for the sound the game makes when you level up).

Dwarf Sorcerer, Northern Desert

So much easier than the last two. The only way down from here is Hobbler's Hold! X-D

Dwarf Sorcerer is pretty fun, and it just happens to steamroll the lower difficulties. Went GG as early as I could and killed things 3-4 levels above (after Humility) on a regular basis. Only explored half the map total. I used consecrations, protections, and fireballs to kill Tower of Goo after killing Aequitas first. I converted all my glyphs except for Burndayraz, and it was pretty simple to regen-fight with Aequitas with no boons or potions.

Tower of Goo probably would've died to regen-fighting with no boons, but I had a lot of piety and I could see it was going to be straightforward. I actually did a map in under 20 minutes for once. X-P

Thank you all so much for your replies. I was doing so much wrong.

I appreciate the time you took and they were very understandable.

Today I almost made a lot of players happy... I sat down to do the daily, and checked out the Tavern just out of curiousity, and I saw a cool Naga City PQI. Since dailies reset the PQI I decided to do that before the daily. So when my computer crashed, I only lost the PQI, not my streak... ;) It was also quite laggy during the Daily, but at least no crashes.

Anyway, I was surprised to see how far in the dust I've been left both in XP and in Piety by one fall_ark at least, I thought I played quite tight, but apparently by far not tight enough... :P It's otherwise a fairly straightforward daily, generous preps and spawns, on a Normal difficulty map (without any placement player-screws-ups), quite enjoyable unless you misclick or something. 8-)
