yeah, all the Gilded Goat hints should be reasonably solvable once you catch on to the logic that they're all talking about goats... except for the final one. The final one is odd-man-out, and its hint is a bit more cleverly layered.

We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

Thanks for the feedback! It's super helpful, especially since I was sort of treating this as a "training run" to learn Vampire before taking on VGT with it. (My only VGT win was Human Paladin of GG.)

That makes a ton of sense about the higher-level monsters. I didn't start attacking two-levels-higher monsters until I was taking basically 0 net damage per hit from them, it makes sense that they'd have started being doable long before then. And as you say, the bigger game you hunt, the more blood cows you leave alive for later. And it's true, by the end damage rather than lifesteal was my limiting factor.

If you think Patches was a hero that run, in my previous two-hits-from-victory run Patches gave me four resist-ups and revealed the boss safely for me. (Too bad I prepped Platemail/Elite instead of Dragonshield/Quest that time around!)

When you say "no win has yet been recorded in Troll Lab without killing the Blood", do you mean as a Warmonger Vampire for the quest, or do you mean ever at all? The Blood's a target you wouldn't even think to skip for the Vampire because it's the only non-bloodless one (though "FFFF3, Spare the Blood" could be a neat challenge run), but I can't imagine why it would be mandatory for other classes when you have the option of killing Trollenstein's Monster instead.

Curious EB was really cool the one run I tried, but the game crashing as soon as the first of the endgame bossfights (I assume) started was a bit of a letdown. But since I have a decent theory why that happened, I suppose that's no reason not to give it another shot... after I've cleared Gilded Goat 5 to unlock 6.

On an unrelated note, I managed to clear Lekon's Table recently as a Rogue! No particular challenge or quest, but I figure that as with Phantom Citadel, the quests will be easier if I've done non-challenge runs of the dungeon first.

I think LT Gorgon becomes easier if you're better at Gorgon moreso than if you understand the dungeon better. The actual dungeon is relatively straightforward.

Gilded Goat part 5 cleared! That was far easier than I anticipated.

But now I need to figure out what to do for part 6.

About higher level kills, I never am so sure about how much worth a +2 level kill is compared to a +1 level kill. If you have the choice between a +1 and +2 before leveling up, it won't make much difference as if you go for the +2 you'll get 4 bonus xp but the +1 will lose the XP bonus after leveling up, while you can kill the +1, level up and kill the +2 (which seems easier) and get the same amount of bonus XP.

My conclusion is that if possible the best is to get as close as possible from leveling up and then try to take on a +3 enemy and get the +8 XP. But in most Vicious runs it's rarely possible without burning some resources.
The good thing is also that if you less up the fight you can always use a level catapult to fix it. If you plan to use the level catapult from the beginning it's even better to aim for a +4 or +5 if possible.

But after all, there are many cases where it's perfectly doable (Wraith + BLUDTOPOWA is usually a very good one)

Nice run, by the way.

I think that what disturbed me the most was that you wasted a lot of popcorn and killed several of your best bloodcows. I mean, if you can use a level 7 as a bloodcows when you're level 6 it means that it will make an excellent bloodcows for you at level 8.

You also wasted a ton of blackspace. The way I play vampire, is usually by trying to squeeze at much health as possible from all my cows and taking on the strongest non-bloodcow-material that I can, before exploring and letting my cows heal to full. Then rince and repeat.

After watching the run I think TheAvatar is correct saying that extra Attack Boosters are probably more useful than extra CP there, especially when the boss has Weakening.
